The cameras in most Indian homes were never built for families.
🔔
Too much noise
You stop checking the app after a week because every notification is a ceiling fan or a shadow. The camera that cried wolf is now ignored.
📼
Footage, not answers
You have terabytes of footage and zero clarity. Finding one useful moment means scrubbing through hours of recording.
🏭
Built for surveillance
Industrial design. Surveillance aesthetic. A camera that makes your home feel like a monitoring station instead of a place to live.
Alaro was designed to solve all three. Not with more features. With better intelligence.
Three families. Three jobs. One camera.
These are not invented scenarios. They are real situations that led to us building Alaro in the first place.
Working Parent
"You're in a meeting. Your baby is at home. Your anxiety isn't in the meeting with you."
Going back to work after maternity leave means dividing yourself across two places at once. You check your phone under the table. You refresh the camera app. The feed is blurry. The notification from an hour ago says nothing useful. You spend the day present in neither place.
How Alaro helps
AI cry detection tells you exactly when your baby needs attention. Nothing else. You get one meaningful message, not a flood of meaningless ones.
Long-Distance Child
"Your parents say they're fine. You want to know that for yourself."
You moved cities for work. Your parents stayed back. They don't call unless something is seriously wrong because they don't want to worry you. But you worry anyway. Every missed call lands differently than it used to. You wish there was a way to know they were okay without having to ask.
How Alaro helps
Passive presence awareness without intrusion. You know they're up and moving. And you get a quiet alert if something looks unusual.
Frequent Traveller
"You locked the door and flew out. The what-ifs started before the flight landed."
You travel for work 10 to 12 days a month. You lock up and leave. But somewhere between the airport and the hotel, the questions start. Did I leave the window open? Is someone at the door? Your current camera gave you a notification two minutes late last time. Two minutes is a long time.
How Alaro helps
Real-time alerts the moment something unusual is detected. Not a feed to monitor. Just one message when you actually need to know.
The Alaro difference. In plain language.
This is not marketing copy. This is how we make every product decision.

01
Place and connect
No drilling. No technician. Place Alaro Camera anywhere and connect to WiFi in under 60 seconds. Works with Jio, Airtel and all Indian broadband connections.
02
AI learns your home
Over the first 24 to 48 hours, Alaro learns what normal looks like in your home. Your ceiling fan. Your cat. Your usual footfall pattern. So it knows when something is actually different.
03
You hear only what matters
Cry detected. Unusual movement at 3am. Someone at the door. That is when you hear from Alaro. Not before. Not after. Exactly when you need to know.

Built by people who believe homes deserve better technology.
Alaro is not a camera company. We are building a new category: home intelligence for Indian families.
Why we started Alaro
Cameras were built to watch intruders. We think they should help families.
"So we started building something different."
The cameras available in India today were engineered for housing societies and security departments. They record. They store footage. They send alerts when a car moves. They were never designed to help a working mother know her baby is okay, or help a son in Bengaluru check on his parents in Lucknow.
We built Alaro because that gap is too important to leave unfilled. Home security in India has been treated as a hardware problem for too long. We think it is an intelligence problem.
The Alaro camera is the first product. But the category we are building is Home Intelligence: a connected layer of understanding that helps Indian families live with more confidence, connection and calm.
Our belief
"Technology built for homes should understand the people in them. Not just record the rooms."

We're opening early access to families who want to be among the first to bring Alaro home.
Here is exactly what Alaro sees, what we store, and how we protect it. No jargon.
How we think about privacy
Three things we built in from the start.
🔒
You can physically switch it off
The Alaro camera has a sliding cover over the lens. Close it and the camera literally cannot see: it is physically blocked. No app toggle. No blinking light. You can see it is off.
🗂
Your footage stays yours
We do not sell your data. The video from your home belongs to you. If we ever want to use your footage for anything beyond running the product, we will ask you first. And we will make it easy to say no.
🔐
Everything is encrypted
From your camera to your phone, your footage travels through an encrypted connection. Think of it like a sealed pipe. Nobody outside your account can see what is flowing through it.
Camera with shutter closed
The physical shutter
When you want privacy, you should be able to see it.
Most cameras give you a button in the app and ask you to trust it. We felt that was not enough for something living inside your home.
The Alaro camera has a physical cover you slide over the lens. When it is closed, the camera cannot record. Not because of software, but because the lens is physically blocked. You can see it. That is the whole point.
In plain English
What Alaro sees. What Alaro keeps.
No vague policy language. Here is the straightforward version.
What Alaro sees
👁
Your live camera feed, streamed directly to your phone
🎙
Sound levels in the room, to detect things like a baby crying
🏃
Movement in the frame, to identify if it is a person, a pet, or just a fan
💡
Lighting conditions, so the camera adjusts automatically at night
What Alaro stores
✦
Clips you choose to save, stored securely in your account
✦
Smart moment highlights, auto-saved for 30 days and then deleted
✦
Alert logs: what triggered an alert, when it happened, and any short clips confirmed during detection. Continuous footage is never stored.
✗
We do not record continuously. We do not keep footage from AI analysis. We do not run ads against your data.
How alerts work
We only bother you when something actually matters.
Alaro does not send you an alert every time a ceiling fan moves. It learns what your home normally looks like, and only tells you when something actually changes.
Here is how it works, step by step.
1
Learning your home
In the first day or two, Alaro quietly maps what normal looks like: your fan, your pet's usual spots, the light at different times of day.
2
Detection happens on the camera
Basic motion and sound detection runs on the device itself. Nothing is sent to our servers unless something triggers a deeper check.
3
Complex events get a second look
For things like cry detection or an unfamiliar face, a short encrypted clip is sent to our cloud servers (powered by Google Cloud) to confirm. Recordings are stored securely and only accessible to you. We don't look at your footage unless you share it with us for support.
4
One clear alert reaches you
Baby crying. Movement at 3am. Someone at the door. That is all you get. Nothing else.
